Most affirmation lists fail one test: can the person reading it believe it right now? "I am abundant" and "I am fearless" are pleasant to read and easy to dismiss, and there's evidence that repeating a line you don't believe can leave you feeling worse than before. So the sixty-four lines here follow three rules. They're in the present tense and about action rather than identity ("I move my body today" rather than "I am an athlete"). They're specific enough to picture. And they leave room for the hard part instead of pretending it isn't there: "Nervous means I care. I go anyway."
That matches what the research actually supports. Reflecting on a value you hold, and on a concrete thing you can do about it today, has shown measurable effects on stress and on following through, in studies going back to the late 1980s. A slogan doesn't do that. A line you'd say to a friend does.
Put it where you'll see it at the moment you need it, not somewhere you'll see it constantly, because constant exposure turns anything into wallpaper. A lock screen works because you unlock your phone at exactly the moments you're about to avoid something. A card taped to the bathroom mirror works for the morning. If a line stops landing after a week or two, swap it; that's normal.
If you want lines in your own words, tied to a specific goal, with a reminder that makes you actually read them, that's what Digital Goal Cards is for. This tool is the fast version for a day when you need one now.
Confidence, work and career, money, health and energy, relationships, learning, hard days, and starting over. Each has eight lines, and the tool shuffles them so a second visit gives you a different one first. Tap "Another one" to move through the set.
The research is mixed and the wording matters. Self-affirmation studies (reflecting on what you value) show real effects on stress and follow-through. But a 2009 study found that repeating a statement you don't believe, like "I am a lovable person" when you feel the opposite, can make people feel worse. That's why every line here is written to be believable: present tense, specific, and about what you do rather than what you are.
You can: the Digital Goal Cards app is built for exactly that, in your own words. This tool is for the moment you need a line and don't have one. Pick the closest, download it, and change the words on paper if you want.
Square is 1080 by 1080 pixels, which fits Instagram, a phone lock screen, and print at about 3.6 inches. Story is 1080 by 1920, which fits an Instagram or TikTok story and most phone wallpapers edge to edge.
Yes. Post them, print them, put them on a desk. We'd appreciate the site name staying on the card, but it isn't a condition.
No. The card is drawn in your browser and downloaded straight to your device. A name you type in stays on your device.
